First of all, a good movie with great special effects. However, it wasn’t as great as everyone made it out to be. There were some weird things about it like the very sudden introduction of Spock’s love interest and the dry humping scene with The Incredible Hulk’s sister (the green lady). Haha. Other than that, the movie was pretty entertaining and if they make a sequel I’d probably go see that too.

Second, they weren’t lying when they said the film makes gratuitous use of lens flares.

Here’s a better review of the film from Current/Rotten Tomatoes.

There’s an op-ed piece in The New York Times written by Maureen Dowd that uses this comical image of Barack Obama as a Vulcan to illustrate how Barack Obama is sort of like Spock, bridging the gap between many different divides. Actually, no, the article is really just a New York Times contributor reassuring the New York Times that they are still alive and relevant. Whatever. The picture is funny.

Twitter seems to be attracting a lot of celebrities lately, and it’s nice to know that the man who hosted Reading Rainbow and starred in Star Trek: The Next Generation is now maintaining his own Twitter. This is pretty neat.
