A company based in Portland, Oregon is manufacturing these wooden sunglasses frames made from maple, zebrawood, or wenge wood. Each pair comes with Carl Zeiss polarized lenses in either grey or brown. I would love to see one in person and feel how much they weigh, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen any time soon.
How much is it to wear rare woods on your face? Oh, about $95.
So last night Yelena and I wandered into the Tuck Shop because we had late night munchies. We had just come from a bar/club on Chrystie Street where we picked up some kiddie star-shaped sunglasses which I had kept in my shirt pocket. Upon ordering a meat pie, the person behind the counter at Tuck Shop said that if we ate the entire pie while wearing glasses, we’d get the pie for free.
