Alex Roman (alias: 3Seventh) rendered these amazing images after seeing the Ryotaro Shiba Museum designed by Tadao Ando in person. Alex then spent 2 weeks modeling, texturing, rendering and compositing the library-museum he remembered in 3D Studio Max, Photoshop and V-Ray.

None of the images in this post are actual photographs. If you want to see more of Alex Roman’s work, definitely check out this post over at Autodesk.

I’m kind of falling in love with the simple idea behind Skyscrapers, a Tumblr blog that posts nothing but images of tall buildings and skyscrapers. And to make it even better, it’s one of the few Tumblr blogs I’ve come across that actually credits the photographer behind each photo. Good on ‘em! If only every Tumblr could follow such an excellent example.

Wedding photography by Todd Laffler

Photo: Todd Laffler

Todd Laffler does some of the most wonderful wedding photography that I’ve ever seen. His unique and relaxed approach to capturing his subjects’ most perfect day are definitely reflected in his images. I particularly like the image above because it’s very far away from everything, which is in contrast to the usual wedding photography that I see which is very up-close and in the subject’s face. Somehow, Laffler makes being even so far away from the wedding party a beautiful scene.

Here’s an image from Erica and Greg’s wedding that I just absolutely love.

Visit Todd’s website to see more fantastic photos. I really think you’ll love them!

Free tall coffee at Starbucks if you vote tomorrow

November 3, 2008 @ 11:30 pm

This piano tune could have been used in Amelie.

Anyway, go into a Starbucks tomorrow (November 4) and tell the barista that you voted and he/she will give you a free tall cup of coffee on the house. Sure, you could lie, but how big of a jerk would you be for not voting [assuming that you can]?
