The Disney Parks Blog has graciously provided this lovely time-lapse video (with tilt-shift effect) of a day at Magic Kingdom. Makes me want to go right this second!

Scenes from a rooftop

Scenes from a rooftop from Paul Johannessen on Vimeo.

Paul Johannessen created this video after being inspired by Keith Loutit’s well-received “Bathtub” video series.

I don’t think I could ever get sick of seeing the world as a miniature model. :)

My absolute favorite thing in this video was the yellow helicopter which really did turn out to look like a model once the tilt-shift effect was put on the image. If you like Keith’s work, you’ll want to check out his tiny Sydney Harbor or his mini monster truck rally video, both of which are an incredibly fun way to view the world around us.

Great examples of tilt-shift effect in photography

Smashing Magazine has compiled a neat list of great examples of tilt-shift photography (both fake and real).

I enjoy manipulating some of my photos sometimes to make them seem like I shot them with a tilt-shift lens. I like that feeling of being able to look at a picture and feel like I’m either up in the clouds or a giant looking down at everything. Haha…

Tiny Sydney Harbor

This is a lovely sped-up video of Sydney Harbor that makes the harbor look like a model boat set. I miss Sydney…
