An email blast this morning comes from Timbuk2 announcing their brand-new Dolores Cooler messenger bag. It’s a bit of a hybrid messenger bag monster complete with ballistic nylon exterior, waterproof TPU inner lining, a main pocket zipper closing, and even a handy bottle opener! The lining on the inside is fully insulated and can hold up to 12 cans of beer. As with all insulated bags, this one here can also keep stuff hot and toasty as well — you just have to judge whether or not you want something burning your back while you walk around.
I quite like this new bag from Timbuk2. It only comes in this red, white, and blue color variation and costs $110.

Whenever I get a new bag, I always try to wear it down as quickly as possible. I don’t like having my bags look pristine and new. I like them dirty, broken-in, and more or less old-looking. That’s why the Lived-In Classic Messenger from Timbuk2 caught my eye.
The Lived-In Messenger comes in 3 colorways — red/brown, blue/orange, and green/barley — each treated so that the colors look faded and sun-bleached. They go for $100 and are only produced in limited quantities so grab one now if you want a bag that you don’t have to kick around to break-in.

I don’t know, this just doesn’t feel necessary at all considering the fact that you’ve got to wear a bag with much bigger storage space anyway to use it, and you’re not going to be walking around with an OPEN can in there anyway. This is a certified way to flush $10 down the drain without actually having to use any water. That was clever, huh.

So Timbuk2 is playing around with the idea of putting their logo on the shoulder strap rather than the front flap cover of their messenger bags. I don’t think this move would hurt their sales or their identity at all.
But yeah, just FYI.

If your idea of a good messenger bag is one that is void of all things necessary to keep your items in dry and in any orderly fashion, then has Urban Outfitters got something for you! Exclusive to Urban Outfitters stores only, Timbuk2 is offering a limited edition retro Timbuk2 messenger bag for only $78.
The classic messenger bag here features none of the water-resistant wax lining that their current bags offer, nor does it have the quick-release strap that made Timbuk2 bags great to begin with. Instead, it’s basically all nylon…and blue.

So the warehouse that handles the stock at my work just confirmed that this Superdry Backpack (orange) is mine and that it is on its way to me as I type this. Wow.
And…I got word from Timbuk2 PR this morning that they are sending over one of their new bags to me for evaluation. Wow.
