I came across the most wonderful architecture book I’ve ever seen at Left Bank Books. It’s called La Tour de 300 Metres and it’s a highly detailed book about the construction of the Eiffel Tower. TASCHEN is known for making large-format books and I believe this is one of their best. At $100+, it’s quite expensive, but every page of this book is worth the price. There are countless diagrams, architectural drawings, archival photos, and more all featured in high detail.
As far as I know, the book is pretty rare to come by so if you ever see it, please take some time to look through it (or purchase it). I didn’t see it at the TASCHEN store but if you are the least bit curious, you can pick up a copy at Amazon.com for $101 or get it on sale at this store for $79.

Taken from the DVD September 11, 2001 – As It Happened – A Composite, this compilation video shows various news outlets reporting live on the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks when the 2nd plane hit the South Tower at 9:03AM.
The second plane (Flight 175) crashing into the second World Trade Center tower was the first and very clear indication that what was happening that Tuesday morning was more than just an accident. Included in this video are footage from ABC News, CBS News, WNYW-TV (Channel 5, New York), WNBC-TV (Channel 4, New York), NY1 (New York One, All News), Fox News Channel, WCBS-TV (Channel 2, New York), and WPIX-TV (Channel 11, New York).

I thought This Is Why You’re Fat would be a good source of recipes for foods to try when I felt like letting myself go, but after viewing a couple of entries, I sort of feel sick.
I have to admit though, that 60-pound rice krispy treat looks pretty neat. But seriously, too much damn crap with bacon. Bacon is kinda gross.

Even on a rainy and cloudy day, the view of Central Park from the 28th floor of the Hearst Tower is breathtaking. The view is one of many reasons why I love working here.
