New BlackBerry Bold OS update allows you to choose 2G network mode

For those of us with an AT&T-branded BlackBerry Bold (9000), you’ll know how annoying it is that you cannot choose which network mode you want to be on. By default, the BlackBerry OS on the Bold is set to 3G which drastically reduces battery life because the Bold is constantly searching for the strongest 3G signal — even when the 3G signal is non-existent or just flat-out sucks.
But with the newest Bold OS update (4.6.0.282), you can now choose to be on 2G only which will help improve battery life if all you’re doing is BBMing where a fast network speed isn’t necessarily needed.

As you might have noticed, I’m trying to get as many people to view my new photoblog as possible. Over the weekend, there were quite a bit of changes so I’ll just go over them quickly as bullet points.
- Official name change: My photoblog is now called You’re My Favourite and is located at the convenient URL of youremyfavourite.com.
- Facebook and Twitter comments: You can now comment on photos at You’re My Favourite using your Twitter or Facebook account.
- RSS feed location: If you subscribed to You’re My Favourite via RSS before Saturday, you’ll have to update the feed location as its URL has changed (to this). But it’s a simple process and I’d be delighted to have you follow me once again.

Lance Armstrong is doing alright

Lance Armstrong just posted a short video telling us about his post-op recovery process and giving us a closer look at his collar bone injury that he sustained in Spain during a cycling crash.
He’s currently got about 12 screws in his body holding bones in place while they fully heal and at the moment he doesn’t know what the injuries mean for his cycling career.

Vimeo updates their Channels to 2.0

Vimeo launched their Channels 2.0 today with some much-needed improvements in design, including better badges for each channel and the ability for channel creators to layout their page in either grid, stream, or gallery format. The gallery format is well-suited for channels that feature predominantly HD content (the HD Channel on Vimeo for example).
Also worth taking note of is the new Nice Type Channel created by Matthew Buchanan that features videos made using typography of all forms. It’s pretty nice to go through and that’s where I found the Dumb & Dumber clip above.
