Herrlicht is an eyeglasses maker in Germany that specializes in hand-made custom wood frames. [via]

I’ve actually never seen this done before but they certainly do look fabulous! I imagine however that these would be worn on somebody who does absolutely no physical work whatsoever for fear of sweat ruining the wood over time. Right? Maybe? I don’t know…

Check out their latest frames below.

Microsoft’s vision of the future

March 11, 2009 @ 12:05 am

If I ever make it to a future as advanced and fluid as this, I’ll be happy.

This concept video was made by the geniuses at Microsoft Office Labs as they envision what it might be like to live in the year 2019. I think the year is an arbitrary number and I kind of doubt we’ll be this advanced as whole by 2019, but it’s nice to know that I’m not too far away from this.

Nike Hindsight bicycle glasses let you really see behind you

October 22, 2008 @ 8:28 pm

Several sites today have been abuzz about these concept Nike cycling glasses by Billy May. The glasses, called Nike Hindsight, feature Fresnel lenses integrated into the sides maximizing the peripheral view of the person riding the bike. Most people only see about 180-degrees of forward vision and these NIke Hindsight glasses use the Fresnel lenses to actually bend light so that a person can see about 25-degrees behind their standard peripheral.

The idea behind these glasses is something that I’d love to see any company (not just Nike) capitalize on. I can see these glasses being used in all sorts of fields (not just cycling) where a greater field of vision would better the person in that situation.

A couple of more images inside of how the glasses will help at large intersections.
