Amazon.com sent over a WD Elements 1.5TB external harddrive today and I’m just setting it up now as a mass storage drive for my music, movies, and digital photos. Freeing up some free space on my laptop so that it’ll weigh a bit less, y’know?
Thanks Amazon!
By the way, these are the icons for the two partitions. Hahaha…

I really like how the Western Digital Elements 1.5TB drive looks. I’m waiting for some coupons or sales to pop up so I can buy one for a bit cheaper (although, $130 is already pretty cheap for 1.5TB).

I don’t know a lot about harddrives but I do know enough to see that Mac-ready drives are the biggest price-gouging scam that all major storage manufacturers seem to be running. If you’re a Mac user that can justify paying $10-$30 more for a process you can complete in Disk Utility in 30 seconds (formatting), then you’re an idiot.

I don’t fully understand why hard drive companies like Western Digital make Mac-specific products when all of their products can be used on a Mac. In any case, it’s a good excuse for them to put out the same product with a slightly different look, and in this case, the newly announced Mac-compatible My Passport external hard drive is no exception. The subtle but distinctive silver-lining along the side of this My Passport hard drive really makes it look better than its plain black counterpart. But honestly, this is the same thing. Same thing. Exact same thing. SAME THING. NO DIFFERENCE. SAME THING.

If you own a recent Western Digital My Passport Elite or My Passport Essential, then maybe you’d be interested in purchasing a Speck SkinPro rubber case for your external hard-drive. The SkinPro wraps around your external hard-drive and offers some sort of shock protection from falls or hard bumps and also includes a place to keep the USB cable stowed away.
At the moment, the case is on sale for just over $18 so if you’re worried about data protection, this is one thing you can do to secure your data a bit more.

Ladies and gentlemen, you won’t want to pass this deal up! At the moment, Amazon.com is selling the Western Digital My Passport Essential 320 GB USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive in Intense Blue
for only $90!
This is one of the best portable hard-drives out on the market and this is probably the cheapest you’ll find it at the moment! Get it for yourself or for someone you like!
