Kaiser Permanente imagines a paperless world

October 10, 2009 @ 7:13 pm

This ad from Kaiser Permanente called “Emerald Cities” imagines what the world might look like if paper medical records went digital. The company argues that many trees would be saved and possibly growing in the middle of our roads. The ad might not make perfect sense, but it’s nice anyway.

Gallery of hotel door hangers from around the world

October 4, 2009 @ 1:02 pm

When Michael Lebowitz’s grandfather passed away last year, his family discovered that the man had kept a wonderful collection of hotel door hangers from around the world. Each one was supposedly taken during a stay at the various hotels the grandfather stayed in during his time in the foreign service. This is definitely my visual inspiration for the day!

Check out the gallery of hotel door hangers here.

Scenes from a rooftop from Paul Johannessen on Vimeo.

Paul Johannessen created this video after being inspired by Keith Loutit’s well-received “Bathtub” video series.

I don’t think I could ever get sick of seeing the world as a miniature model. :)

This made me feel good.

Thanks Esther!

UPDATE: Here’s some background info on the song in case you wanted to know.

The Playing For Change CD is now on sale at Amazon.com and iTunes. Visit the Playing For Change website for more info.
