In late June, Fujifilm will release the brand new GFX 100 camera, a 100MP “large format” digital beast that features in-body stabilization, 5-stops of dynamic range, and a new set of lenses that are future-proof for even larger than 100MP sensors (!!!).
DPReview has an inside look at how this camera is assembled in the factory. And if you’re curious, you can download some of the 600MB TIFF files from this camera to do some pixel peeping! This is the first camera I can finally see making some headway into the medium-format digital world that Hasselblad and PhaseOne currently occupy and really giving them a run for the money.
Literally all of my preferred film stocks are going up in price by 30% starting June 1st. Unless Kodak releases E100 in 120, it looks like I may be stuck spending a bit more to shoot film this summer. :(
