Two years in a row now Amazon has completely let me down by building immense hype around Prime Day and then going ahead and basically selling bargain bin items at their normal price. It is, by all accounts, one of the worst deals in all of internet. But hey, that's how you clear a giant warehouse full of deadstock! And it looks like despite the stupid deals, people ate it up and bought tons of useless stuff at an amazing rate. Here's Amazon's own take at how busy Prime Day was in 2016.
