This is perfect. A new Twitter bot called RealPressSecBot is checking for new Trump tweets every 5 minutes and then formatting them into official White House press releases. This is noteworthy because lately Trump seems to be taking to Twitter to say a lot of weird and stupid things and somehow nobody in his vicinity has told him that anything he says publicly can be taken as official statements.
This guy gets it. His successor does not. Listen to how Obama conducted his final press conference at The White House -- full of respect for the people in the room and understanding that those same people may on some days report negatively about himself and his administration. And that's ok! That's the way it should be! Accountability from the press so that an administration doesn't run havoc on the country and its citizens.
Put this in contrast with current Press Secretary Sean Spicer who basically tried to pull a fast one on a room full of press that is growing increasingly tired of Trump's bullshit and misdirection. There's no respect from Spicer at all for these people doing their best to do their job in a hostile environment.
Oh man, I'm gonna miss seeing these two lead our country so much. They really were an excellent example of how to lead gracefully and compassionately. And whether or not you agreed with all of their policies and decisions, I'd reckon it's tough to say they didn't elevate the office of the Presidency to another level. Plus, all of Obama's bad jokes...!
One of my dreams is to tour The White House. But until I actually get some time to schedule that in, this video above looks like the best way to enjoy the tour on a virtual level. And learn some sign language at the same time. NEAT NEAT NEAT.
