The Omnicharge Omni 20 is a 20,400mAh portable battery capable of delivering up to 100W via the AC outlet. This is the only external battery that can not only power the 87W MBPs (15-inch) but also charge them during use (an important factory when shooting on location). The only downside here is that you would have to carry the full AC charging unit along with this Omnicharge external battery.
This leaves plenty of room in the market for an external battery that could make use of the high-powered USB-C ports for charging without needing to lug around the Apple AC adapter for the computer. If somebody would put this type of battery out with a high enough capacity, I guarantee you at least a good number of sales in the photo industry alone.
A few years ago when I was looking for a laptop stand for my MacBook Pro, I wondered why no company made a stand that also served as a heatsink. There were plenty of stands that had other mechanisms built into them that cooled down a laptop, but I always wondered why no heatsink existed that just elevated the MacBook as a whole.
Well, Bryan Wong made one. It's not for sale (yet), but the prototype here looks amazing and serves the dual function of elevating the laptop and keeping it cool by drawing heat away from the computer's enclosure and into the surrounding space.
Check out some photos of this beautiful thing!
Whoa what?! When did this come out? I use the Rain Design mStand360 for my own laptop setup at home but I never knew the company made a version of it with a swivel base! It's a few more dollars but offers much more versatility when it comes to angling the direction of your laptop for viewing. I wish I had bought this one instead of the regular stand!
PS: Yes, I do think this is one of the best MacBook Pro laptop stands in existence.
