Wait, there are people out there who believe that lifting/engaging your parking brake without pushing the button down is bad for your car? Who are these people? Why are they so dumb? How did this myth even get started? That clicking sound you hear is in fact a good feedback mechanism built into the mechanical system.
Of course, when disengaging the brake, you do have to push the button.
