Netflix is really on fire lately. The video streaming giant is releasing a new series called The Get Down directed by Baz Luhrmann about 1970s New York and the birth of hip-hop. All the typical things you'd expect are here from a NYC period-piece including burned out homes, rooftop shots, breakdancing, and graffiti farther than the eye can see.

I'm always fascinated by how directors turn modern NY into old NY so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for this one. I wonder how true to life they'll keep the background elements. It'll surely be fun to pick out the mistakes (if any).
